Description

Middlesex University dates back to 1878 when St Katherine’s College was founded in Tottenham, north east London. Following the addition of seven other colleges, Middlesex Polytechnic was formed in 1973 before it gained university status in 1992, becoming the institution it is today.

The university serves over 25,000 students, hailing from around 140 countries.

As well as its main campus in London, Middlesex has also opened overseas campuses in Dubai, Mauritius and Malta, where students can gain internationally recognised British qualifications.

Home students at Middlesex can also take part in various student exchange and study programmes at the university’s international campuses, or at over 100 other partner institutions around the world.

Middlesex was also recently selected as one of the UK participants in the Brazilian Scientific Mobility programme: a Brazilian Government scholarship scheme designed to bring up to 10,000 Brazilian students to the UK over a number of years.

Among its alumni are the actor and comedian Johnny Vegas, the artist and academic Sonia Boyce, and the UK television and radio presenter Dermot O’Leary.

In my opinion this is a great university, I have the freedom to choice when I want my classes and all the lecturers are highly qualified. The faculty is also very supportive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this university to everyone

Overall it’s a good place to be and the people are nice. However, the curriculum and teaching standards needs to be enhanced for better career prospects. For STEM subjects like computer science, it’s difficult to find decent jobs.

The lecturers on my course are always happy to help and it makes such a big difference knowing you have that support if and when it is needed. Facilities are great too, library is open 24hrs and there are areas for everyone whether you like to study individually or in a group. In terms of text books, IT equipment and other study materials MDX Uni is very good e.g. all our textbooks are online. At the end of the day Uni is mostly what you make it out to be. Tip - Join societies early as it is also a good way to make new friends.

Middlesex offers a lot of cultural events which enables students to socialise better and get along with many different people. The University has a fair amount of open space for students to roam freely and think positively. As a Graphic Student I have access to the grove building which has many reliable and resourceful facilities to use, in which I can use at my own free time helping me throughout to process through my degree. The University’s library is very well organised and sectioned making life easier for students to get their work done.

I only applied to one university for my undergraduate studies, and I got in. It wasn’t a dream school scenario. My parents felt comfortable sending me as far as the UAE (from Pakistan) as I was not yet nineteen and they were anxious about letting me go. It took me a while to adjust because I went to a small high school and this just felt like one big high school but it honestly grows on you. And when you’re almost done, you realise it was a comfortable and safe option, but that doesn’t make it a bad one. Living in Dubai guarantees you will be meeting people of more nationalities than you can count. It is diverse, every member of the staff is lovely, and as cliche as it sounds, it feels like one big family. You’ve got your immediate family and then all the other oddball relatives you interact with on special occasions. Their events are great, especially International Day. I would do anything to celebrate that with them again. I had a very small class and became very close with my teachers there, so I’m forever grateful for amazing mentors.

It’s a pretty good University with multiple events and activities but at the same time ample amount of lectures etc! Though the whole career and campus placements are low, plus being a law student they don’t really guide you much!

They have the best faculty among all the other universities as well as the campus. They have all sort of facilities and benefits for the students studying in their campus. It’s definitely a worth studying in the campus

Middlesex university is academically a good university with people from all over the world and provides courses as per student requirements. The university needs to improve on its tutors in Business information system module .
