Kingston University

Upon enrolment at Kingston University I instantly knew I was going to fit in - it's hard not to! It's such a friendly and diverse University overall - across all of their four campuses. You instantly are welcomed to the community throughout an amazing week of freshers activities and workshops. My journey throughout my past two years at Kingston has been nothing short of amazing. I have succeeded in my studies, professionally and gained excellent work experience as a Student Ambassador too. The opportunities the University offers are endless and second to none. All lecturers are helpful and supportive and have mountains of experience and knowledge for students to learn from! Overall I cannot commend this University highly enough and would definitely recommend prospective students with Kingston as their options to go to their open days and really consider Kingston as their first options!

I really like Kingston university, the amount of support provided to students is abundant, whether it is for vocabulary and grammar checks to help with financial and problems at home. The environment is amazing as well with a wide diversity of Student, making everyone feel like they are apart of something with a range of societies to join. There are ethnic societies as well as sport societies, hence there is something for everyone. The only thing I do not like about Kingston University is that is does not have much green space as it is a city university and the library is quite small in relation to the number of people that come Kingston. Nonetheless the library has a wide range of books and it's really nice with different study areas to suit what's best for you.

I attend the Penrhyn Road campus which due to the proximity of buildings had a community feel to it. At the time, The library and campus lacked enough computers for students to but I'm sure that has changed. Some lecturers were very proactive and invested in their students learning whereas others would simply read a PowerPoint presentation. The university should have supported students more in what their career paths will be after university and what skills they will need for their chosen path. Better emphasis and opportunity should have been provided in the industry so students have a better chance of obtaining work after university. Lots of support for students who have low household incomes

This University is very bland, there is no help whatsoever and a lack or resources make it really a drag to go to that University. The lack of resources really impact how you study so you have to make sure you find your own resources to make sure you stay on target. All the societies and student Union are very disorganised and not to a standard you expect from a university. Most of the professors don't really care what happens to their student and literally a professor left just the institute before summer ended and left third years scrambling for someone to teach them because they did not have enough teacher that new particular module well.

I do geniuley like the university and its campus surroundings, I like the green spaces and clubs/societies the university has to offer. I met my life friends there and would personally would recommend the university as it offers a range of multiple courses/ varied programmes to choose from.

I'm taking computer science, currently on my second year of the course, and I feel that, though the course might have some shortcomings, it has been engaging and interesting throughout, and the shortcomings I mentioned are primarily organisational problems that arose from the university significantly updating the course in recent years. The university offers many opportunities for enterprising students to get an advantage on the job market for when they graduate, such as programmes for part-time work for local SMEs, academic mentoring positions, and both part-time and full-time positions in various departments in the university ranging from student ambassadors to technical support and work on inhouse development projects. Overall, I think that Kingston University is a very solid choice for anyone who is willing to put in the work to develop in this field.

The University is great with providing the required resources to help with different courses, for me personally i like the cyber lab and the library as they have a nice relaxing environment to study in.You can either study in groups , alone in a quite area or you can even book a whole room for group studies to fit different styles of studies and research.
