The university locations of Bern and Friborg have the greatest accumulation and diversity of scientific Eastern European competences in the Swiss comparison. With the Swiss East European Library, the largest scientific specialized library in Switzerland on the contemporary history and present of the European East, they also own one of the largest European research libraries on the subject of Eastern Europe.
