The undergraduate program includes, in its first stage, introductory courses to the various disciplines that make up modern Biblical research, such as Biblical Hebrew, Biblical exegesis ranging from Antiquity to today, textual criticism of the Bible, and the Bible in light of the ancient Near East. The studies also include close reading in one of the books of the Former Prophets (Joshua, Judges, 1-2 Samuel, 1-2 Kings) and other elective courses. At the second stage of their studies, students participate in courses dedicated to additional Biblical books, as well as in research seminars, covering a variety of subjects relating to Biblical literature, theology, historiography and more; they also have a choice of variety of elective courses given by the Bible Department and by adjacent departments.
