BA History

Students of history acquire critical skills in communication, writing and research; they learn to use evidence to develop interpretive skills and a broad perspective. The department of history at Rice is among the largest of the departments in the Humanities. We offer a diverse and exciting range of undergraduate classes that explore the human experience, from ancient Rome and medieval Central Asia to the Indian Ocean, colonial Brazil, modern China, Mexico, the American South, and much more.
