BA in Ancient Near East Studies

Ancient Near Eastern studies you will learn how the countries around the Mediterranean Sea, from ancient Egypt, Syria and Babylonia (Iraq) to Greece and Italy, developed and how they were in contact with each other. You study a region or the entire culture area. You learn how script types arose, such as cuneiform and hieroglyphics. You become acquainted with religion, literature and material culture and discover how agriculture, trade and architecture developed. You also learn how big states and cities came into existence, perished and how they were recovered.
