Biology is the natural science that involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical and chemical structure, function, development and evolution. Modern biology is a vast field, composed of many branches. At Florida State University, the Department of Biological Science offers one undergraduate major, which is Biological Science. All undergraduate students who declare a major in Biological Science, and successfully complete the requirements for the major, receive a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biological Science.
