Description
Geosciences have a critical role in solving socially important global problems, such as environmental change, sufficiency and sustainable use of raw materials and critical commodities, and thus international contacts and research networks are crucial to the researchers. All major geoscience disciplines involved in the study the lithosphere and mantle of the Earth are represented in the Doctoral Programme in Geosciences. Research and studies in the programme are based on four different disciplines; geology, physical geography, solid earth geophysics and archaeology. Research focal areas of GeoDoc are, among others: global change, economic geology, isotope geology, solid earth geophysics, petrology, evolution of the lithosphere and the mantle, raw materials of Earth's crust, hydrogeology, seismology, spatial modelling, paleoecology, geochemistry and remote sensing
