In this course, students are prepared to deliver counseling services to adults, children, adolescents and their families in urban mental health settings, hospital psychology departments, university counseling centers, and other mental health service environments. The program also provides specialized training in Substance Abuse Treatment and a rotating array of electives in specialized areas such as, Cognitive Behavior Therapy Principles for Counseling, Crisis Counseling, Sexuality and Gender Counseling, Couples and Family Counseling, Counseling with Children and Adolescents, and Grief, Loss and Bereavement Counseling.
