Master's Degree in PHYSICS

The master's degree course in Physics is open to all graduates of the class of Physical Sciences and Technologies and to graduates of other scientific disciplines (such as, for example, Mathematics or Engineering) who want to deepen their preparation in basic or applied Physics. The master's course allows you to integrate the knowledge acquired in the three-year course by completing your training in the different areas (experimental-applicative, theoretical and the foundations of physics, microphysics, astrophysics) and to approach current research topics ( find out more ) by addressing, in the thesis work , the stimulus and challenge of an original research ( find out more - PDF). The master's degree in Physics opens up opportunities for employment in research laboratories in national and international centers, in high-tech companies and in insurance or financial institutions, allows you to undertake a path of teachers in lower and upper secondary schools and represents the first step to undertake a scientific research activity, such as the Research Doctorate, both in Italy and abroad, or the School of Specialization in Medical Physics. The course is delivered entirely in English , is organized into three curriculum : Astrophysics (Data Science for Astrophysics), General Physics (General Physics), medical and Experimental Physics (Medical and Experimental Physics). The general physics curriculum in particular offers a wide choice of courses from physics of matter to optics, from nuclear and subnuclear physics to theoretical physics, which allow the student to build an ad hoc path, according to their inclinations. Thanks to the agreement with Linnaeus University in Kalmar-Vaxjo (Sweden), it is possible to obtain the double degree : together with the Italian title of Master of Science in Physics, that of "Master in Physics", issued by Linnaeus University, is awarded. The interested student will have to follow a particular path that provides for a stay at the Linnaeus University for at least one semester where at least 30 CFUs must be acquired.
