The degree course has a single course of study that provides students with basic engineering notions and an in-depth knowledge of the main characteristics of information processing systems, both in hardware and software components. In particular, computer skills cover the fundamental principles of the architecture of computers and processing systems, problems relating to the design and integration of hardware and software systems, with in-depth knowledge of operating systems, programming languages, techniques and methods of software engineering, principles and technologies for modeling, designing and managing databases.
Given the consistent presence of students from other countries, the courses are held in Italian and English. In addition to a complete course in one of the two languages, it is also possible to make some choices that allow you to insert individual courses in English.
The competence of the engineer is not limited to knowledge, but includes knowing how to apply the knowledge acquired. Many courses include laboratory activities in which experimental activities take place with the use of information technology (computers) or electronic equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.). The basic computer labs are flanked by advanced laboratories focused on the knowledge and management of the main operating systems (both proprietary and open-source) and widely used application software.
