The Archaeological Sciences course offers the opportunity to focus on one of the four subjects Classical Archeology, Christian Archeology, Prehistoric Archeology and Egyptology. In the respective subject area, the corresponding archaeological knowledge is deepened in a research-oriented manner in classic course formats as well as practice-oriented elements such as excursions or practical exercises. In addition, another archaeological subject is chosen as a supplementary profile. Alternatively, courses from the subjects listed above and the fields of Islamic archeology, ancient American studies, ancient history, medieval history, art history and museum studies can be freely combined.
In this way, students expand their knowledge of the central monuments and continuously develop their analytical skills and scientific work techniques, taking into account interdisciplinary approaches and methods. In addition, they are enabled to work independently scientifically and to position themselves critically in subject-specific discussions.
