Having spent 4 years studying at Stirling University, plus an additional year abroad in Spain, I'd definitely recommend it to prospective students. With regards to the course itself, I had a really good experience in the majority of my modules and lecturers were friendly and helpful. Stirling uni is good as it offers flexibility and variety within your course, allowing you to take different routes and even change degrees if you begin to enjoy a certain subject more. My particular course allowed me to study 3 different subject areas - business, Spanish and law. I believe Stirling is the only uni that allows students studying a language to spend 2 periods abroad. I took a gap year between years 3 & 4, which was arranged through the uni, to teach English in Spain but also spent 1 semester of year 3 studying at a Spanish uni. The modern library offers a comfortable and quiet environment to study and work on coursework. There is a wide range of resources easily available to borrow. The only criticism is that you sometimes struggle to get a seat if you arrive at busy times of the day due to a lack of private tables. There is also study zone which is open 24/7, providing more space to work. The campus is a huge selling point. It's one of the prettiest in the country which is a nice way to spend a study break, walking round the lake. The facilities on campus are also really good. There's a supermarket, bank, pharmacy, chapel, bar, nightclub, cafes etc. Stirling as a city is a great place to live as a student due to its size, variety of restaurants and pubs, as well as fun (and cheap!) weekly nightlife. Your choice of student accommodation is either very old or very expensive. Although I lived in one of the oldest and cheapest in my 1st year, I still thoroughly enjoyed my time there as it was full of likeminded students, it was a fun experience. I'd recommend students to move out in their 1st year, it's the best way to make friends. The new accommodation is very modern and lovely inside, but quite pricey. There are countless extra curricular activities available, from clubs and societies to sports teams. Overall, a great place to live and study for your undergraduate degree. Definitely recommend!
