The university of Passau has one of the most beautiful campus I have ever seen. There are a lot of trees and green areas where you can spend your break between the lectures. Next to the university is a big “field”, especially in summer months it is amazing because everybody has a nice time there. Students are relaxing, having a barbecue or just drinking one of the typical German beers. There is a big offer of interesting and international subjects to study, some are really unique and you just can study in Passau. Because of the internationality, there are plenty opportunities to spend a semester abroad (worldwide). If you want to meet new cultures and people from all over the world, it is very easy because the university of Passau has a lot international students. The curses are very interesting and you learn a lot. Especially the language centre is really famous so that there are offered many languages. To full the Freetime, there a plenty organisations, groups or sports groups you can join, so that is never boring in Passau. On the other hand there are also some problems for example the university is too small for too many students. In some lectures you have to arrive really early to get a seat, otherwise you have to sit on the floor. Following to this, during exam period the libraries are way too full. We are living in year 2019 and the WiFi isn’t working well, in my opinion a big problem that should be solved. Many students can’t find a payable flat or room because there are not enough students houses, that is why some people have to live in Austria. All in all I am really happy to study in Passau because it is a great place for students.

The University of Passau is perfect if you're a student which is interested in International relations and like to party to Latino beats ? it's a good research university with an endless amount of partner universities worldwide. Plus there are various student associations like f.e. AEGEE which gives you the possibility to get active in European politics and travel all around Europe and meet awesome people while doing so.

A great university! If you are looking for your start into university life, study abroad in an international community or want to change to the university with the most beautiful campus then Passau should be your choice. It is ranked for high quality of education in law, has among others unique program for governance and public policy, international cultural and business studies. Also the center of languages is known for its quality offer in language courses. The amount of student associations and the sport courses offered at the centre for sports for all students as well as city and night life offer more opportunities to organize your freetime and engage in your fields of interest.

Passau is the ideal student town, located in an area deeply rooted in Bavarian traditions and yet with many international aspects. Most of the undergraduate study programmes in Arts and Humanities allow you to choose from a variety of courses and like that build your own focus areas. Most programmes are very interdisciplinary, so make sure to choose a direction to dive into the deeper aspects of the different subjects, especially if you seek a Master's degree later on. University also offers you many extra curriculum courses, such as language or soft skill courses. It is also relatively easy to integrate your studies abroad or a longer internship in your study plan. The libraries are well equipped and the buildings get continuously renovated. Though there is much room for improvement, there are by far not enough professors/lecturers for the number of students (at least in social sciences), the teaching methods which they use are not that innovative and administration is often not very service oriented. However, with all these freedoms in your study programme you can seize your chance and get involved in the very active student culture at the campus. As Passau hosts many international students and offers many culture studies and political sciences programmes, there are plenty of engaged student associations, such as AEGEE-Passau. My personal experience with AEGEE is for sure the icing on my study cake, made me explore Europe, making friends and taught me many very useful soft skills for my future job that university did not provide me with. I can highly recommend joining one of the many associations! Passau is a place to feel at home immediately, you will not want to leave - promised!

Passau really is the best place to study, it's a cozy little city with a lot of students and student attractions. The university has a very beautiful and compact campus which is extremely helpful if you have lectures one after the other and in different buildings and the professors and all staff are very qualified and super helpful. I recently only finished my first year here but it is as home to me as where I come from thanks to Uni Passau ?

The University of Passau offers a variety of degree programs. Whether cultural studies, international relations / political science, law, business or media and communication there is actually something for everyone. I study at the University of Passau "International Relations / Political Science". My subjects are among others, Economics / Law / Politics and History. My professors are especially good at the Faculty of Political Science and deal with very current topics. What I like most about the campus and the variety of lectures, seminars and exercises that I can attend. Unfortunately, it is always a bit difficult with the Wlan in the various libraries, the connection breaks off frequently. But I think the problem is being solved. Nevertheless, I think it's good at my university that I can choose many things myself and have the opportunity through my study program, varied study.

The city is nice. A lot of students, great life. But the university is more and more turning into a company only caring about numbers and statistics but not about the students. If you study law or informatics your are fine. Business is also ok....

The city is nice. A lot of students, great life. But the university is more and more turning into a company only caring about numbers and statistics but not about the students. If you study law or informatics your are fine. Business is also ok. Social Sciences which is the largest faculty gets less and less resources and we suffer from few poor courses and bad support.
