Really lovely campus with good lecturers. Well organised department. Uni life is so fun and the accommodation is nice. Lots of people to go to for help and advice. Lab facilities very modern and lecture theatres also good.

I’m studying at this University and it’s honestly been everything I’ve wanted it to be and more. What impressed me the most is the way the Uni (law school in particular) responded to the pandemic, giving us a lot of flexibility and support.

The most holistic approach to education and well-being! The International faculty looks after the needs of the students well. The subjects are well taught and interactive discussion is highly encouraged.

I can say with confidence that university has been three years of my life that I will definitely never forget. Bristol allowed me to grow into the person I am today, there is so much opportunity: through an abundance of student jobs, all the societies you could ever imagine, internships and being lectured by masters in their specific field. Not only does the university provide a plethora of new experiences, but the city itself is also pure joy. It is over-flowing with culture, things to do and beauty, there really is something for everyone (including your parents when they come to visit), if you're looking for your typical student nights out then there are definitely many of those around. If that is not something that interests you then what about a live poetry slam or intimate gig or life drawing class or simply watching the stars from Brandon Hill. It is a city filled with discovery and it will help you discover more about yourself whilst you're at university. Obviously, there is some work that has to be done whilst at university (unfortunately!) so be prepared to balance work and play because I would be lying if I said it was easy. You have to work hard but I promise it is worth it in the end and there is support available at every step. Often you may have to seek out that support but it is there, for example getting a peer mentor in the first year or speaking with your personal tutor. There are many people working behind the scenes to make your university experience as smooth as possible to allow you to focus on your learning … and you will learn a lot, especially when you are being taught by some very eccentric lecturers but that just adds to the whole experience. Not only are lecturers experts in their fields, the facilities at Bristol are also the best of the best whether that is the Science labs or libraries. Anything you could ever need, you will find at Bristol.

After a fairly overwhelming start and being unsure if Bristol was the place for me, the uni and my tutors were so encouraging and helped me adjust to uni life. The course was the best part for me - so interesting, and lecturers were great and mostly really responsive. There are so many opportunities to get to know other students through societies etc, and most societies are super inclusive which is lovely and definitely helps make you feel at home. My three years at Bristol have been so good that I've moved here permanently. I would 100% recommend Bristol Uni to a friend or anyone who is considering going there.

I do BSc Economics and Politics and would say the course is very interesting on the Politics side, whereas Economics is good if you like maths a lot. The modules they offer get more interesting in 2nd and 3rd year. Teaching is mostly good although you can get unlucky with some tutors and more rarely lecturers. Socially, Bristol is very good with lots of things to do, a beautiful city and a good nightlife.

The university has tons of incredibly knowledgeable and captivating lecturers - as you get through your bachelor's degree and get more choice I found lectures to be not only extremely informative but fascinating and entertaining too. The workload is quite heavy and I feel the university is heavily lacking in the quality of its pastoral support. Mental health services, student services and the amount of individual tutoring needs to be expanded and improved. As it is such a prestigious university I do feel the marking is stricter and the expectations are higher (naturally) so that can be quite difficult. It’s a great university if you want to be in a beautiful, historic, fun and lively city. It’s great for nightlife and meeting wonderful people. You will make fantastic friends and explore wonderful topics in many different university libraries.
