Description

Home to hard-working, entrepreneurial students since 1913 Welcome to Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), an international research university with more than 100 years of experience helping bachelor, master, and PhD students pursue their ambitions in the areas of wealth, health, governance, and culture. We are known for our pragmatic approach, our entrepreneurial vibe, and a “make it happen” mentality that serves to help our 28.000 students and researchers achieve their ambitions. Studying at EUR: good to know A top-100 research university: From our own student feedback to international university rankings, EUR maintains an excellent reputation. We are proud that EUR is consistently ranked in the top 2% of the world’s best universities. Notoriously reasonable tuition: Dutch higher education offers incredible value due to a long-term commitment from the Dutch government to educational accessibility: most EUR programmes cost roughly €2,000 for European students, and not too much more for students from other parts of the world. Modern, safe campus: In addition to excellent study areas and a renovated library, our main campus Woudestein offers students a number of places to eat, get active in the sports center or join a variety of social and academic clubs. Virtual experience: Even if you can’t visit EUR campus in person, you can get a feeling of what it’s like to study here. Scroll through campus, housing, class, the city, and career testimonials as told by our current students and alumni in the virtual experience. At home in urban Rotterdam: Rotterdam is the second biggest city in the Netherlands unique in the country for its experimental architecture. Its huge port, many multinational companies, and melting pot of cultures serve as both a living laboratory for our researchers and a backdrop for a rich student life. International bachelor and master programmes With the exception of double degrees, all of our bachelor programmes are three years and result in an internationally-recognized Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The vast majority of our students continue directly to one of our 50+ international master programmes. In general, master programmes are one year and result in a Master of Science (MSc), Master of Arts (MA), or Master of Laws (LLM) degree. If you anticipate earning a PhD, you may choose to follow a two-year master research programmes; we offer hundreds of PhD opportunities. Search for a programme of your interest in one of our faculties or institutes: • Rotterdam School of Management • Erasmus School of Economics • Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication • Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management • Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences • Faculty of Philosophy • Erasmus School of Law • Erasmus Medical Centre • Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences • Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies • International Institute of Social Studies • Erasmus University College

I am doing my Bachelors in the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and it has been exactly like I expected it to be, in the introduction days I was able to have a good idea what my next years would be like. I had a very first good impression and I would definitely recommend it for a friend, it’s for sure a life-changing experience. One of the things that attracted me the most in the Uni is the opportunity to go on exchange for 5 months during the program, in many different countries all around Europe. The campus is very big and has a very modern aspect to it, while my erasmus university in Lisbon (Católica) has a very old and small campus. I have had courses like Marketing, Finance and Entrepreneurship, and they were very interesting and applied to the real market. They have lots of student associations and clubs, so it’s really easy to get to know new people. The university offers some kind of support but it is mostly down to your social skills whether you are able to find accommodation, and it’s also not so cheap. The night life is not so great, but there are always parties at the student houses. And further advice for future students would be to save some money before coming to Rotterdam, it is expensive!

they have some great facilities. the buildings could ve better but the eating areas are amazing and cheap. the sports complex is really modern which is nice. I think the tutors are fine but they could be better.

Focus on critical analysis, creative thinking, practical learning experience, challenging learning environment, wide multicultural exposure. I would definitely recommend this university as it has met all of my learning expectations.

I like it because the university is very international. Moreover, the program I’m doing (IBA) is varied and interesting. However, some courses I’m taking are too theoretical and are therefore less interesting than more practical ones

My overall experience was challenging! I study a Master in development at the International Institute of Social Studies. The Master excelled my expectations with intensive learning, lecturers, tasks and the content professors delivered. The lessons were completely related to the academic jobs, and the courses open my panorama. However, the program made me re-evaluate my career. I learned about policy analysis, value chains, local development. But, I did not learn technical skills, which are highly demanded for companies, NGO's and Governments. The institute is very research-oriented and students do not have access to practical experiences.

I loved everything about my University. EUR was a wonderful place to be even though I spent all my time in The Hague where my faculty was located as the International Institute of Social Studies(ISS). There was a very unique academic atmosphere. The faculty was amazing and world-class experience of it was amazing. The atmosphere is very international as well. I’ve graduated with students from 55 different nationalities. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who’s willing to expand their horizon and network.
