Konkuk University's College of Social Sciences was launched in 2018 by integrating the existing College of Political Science, College of Commerce, and College of Global Convergence. The purpose of integration is to further revitalize interdisciplinary research and convergence education by placing related departments scattered across multiple colleges under one college. As of 2018, it consists of 7 departments including Political Science and Diplomacy, Economics, Public Administration, International Trade, Applied Statistics, Convergence Talent, and Global Business. are conducting studies. Social science is a field of study that aims to scientifically investigate social phenomena. Although the social phenomena that each academic unit focuses on and approaches to them are somewhat different, it can be said that all fields of social science have in common that they seek to provide solutions to important social problems through in-depth understanding of human society. . Although it is classified as a basic field of study along with the humanities and natural sciences, it has the characteristic of emphasizing the scientific approach more than the humanities, and it has the characteristic of emphasizing the intuitive understanding of the multifaceted human being compared to the natural sciences.
