Description
On Roehampton’s BSc Psychology you’ll develop an excellent understanding of the core areas of psychology, including: Biological psychology, where you’ll study how the brain, nervous system and other physiological systems affect mental functioning and behaviour. Social psychology, looking at how our behaviour is influenced by the presence and behavior of others. Developmental psychology, studying how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours change throughout our lives. You will also have the chance to shape your degree around your own interests and study the latest developments in specialist fields including mental health, health psychology and forensic psychology. Our degree is designed to help you succeed in whatever career you choose after graduation. As well as preparing you for further study to become a fully Chartered Psychologist, the versatile transferrable skills you learn will make you a great candidate for a wide range of graduate jobs. You’ll be learning from our enthusiastic and supportive academic tutors, who are also practitioners and involved in the latest research. On campus our world-class library and dedicated psychology facilities, including electroencephalograms (EEGs) which are used to evaluate electrical activity in the brain and eye tracking systems which allow you to gain a deeper understanding of cognitive processes during tasks, will help support your studies and research. You will also be part of a research active community from your first year, with many of our students taking part in 3rd year student research projects, giving you first-hand experience in a range of different projects and research methods. Our BSc Psychology is professionally accredited by The British Psychological Society (BPS). If you graduate with at least a second-class honours degree, you’ll be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS – a key first step if you choose to become a Chartered Psychologist.
