Underlying all courses in the Bachelor of Creative Industries Design major is concerned with the role that visual processing, concept sketching, concept diagramming, and visual story telling play in taking abstract ideas and manifesting them in a visual, communicable, material form. Communication that is primarily visual permeates most professions and practices associated with the creative industries. Increasingly, visual communication is gaining currency in industry sectors not conventionally thought of as creative, such as the financial services sector, business, health services, and taxation design. The visual communication design major helps develop the visual, technical and imaginative capacity of students wanting to work across more obvious fields such as web and print design, animation and illustration through to more esoteric fields such as user experience, service and strategy design.
