The question of gender is very topical and plays a central role in many areas of society. The study of Gender Studies or Gender Studies is correspondingly versatile and interdisciplinary. It's about questions like: why do men earn more than women How do beauty concepts and sexual practices change What role do gender images play in advertising, in computer games, in TV series To what extent is the financial crisis linked to gender relations What's up with queer Gender studies are based on the insight that gender and gender relations are not simply natural phenomena, but above all social phenomena, and consider their significance in the past and present. Closely related to this are various dimensions of social, ethnic, cultural and sexual differentiation processes. Anyone who studies gender research, therefore, gets to know essential social relationships. At the same time, the program conveys concrete gender competences for occupations outside of academic research.
