Program in Classical and Christian Archaeology provides a solid grounding in the content, methods, and theories of Classical and Christian archaeology, i.e., the archaeology of Greek and Roman antiquity between the late Bronze Age and late antiquity, including the Byzantine Empire. It focuses on the material remains of the Greek, Roman, late antique, and Byzantine material and image cultures: both archaeological records and monuments still located at their original site and objects from excavations and collections. The educational goal is to teach basic skills in archaeology, art history, and cultural history.
