In Cologne there are five areas of prehistory and early history (UFG), classical archeology (KA), archeology of the Roman provinces (AdRP), Egyptology ( GY) and archaeological informatics (ArchIT). This gives you the opportunity to study the past from the beginnings of human development through the first settled peasant cultures (Stone Age), Bronze and Iron Ages to the Egyptian and classical cultures of the Mediterranean and the Roman provinces. Germany-wide special features are the Africa Research Center and the Professorship for Archaeological Informatics.
