The work of a building surveyor is varied with no two days being the same and requires a technically minded pragmatic thinker who will become very adaptable. You can expect to use your technical and legal expertise in projects ranging from brand new multi million pound commercial developments to small-scale refurbishments and conversions of residential buildings in a variety of different roles including project manager, designer and contract administrator. Building pathology skills and knowledge will be regularly tested in the preservation of fragile or historic structures and the survey and inspection of a range of properties. As a building surveyor you will have a rewarding and fulfilling career due to the breadth of skills, knowledge and abilities you will gain.
