Philosophising starts with wonder. About man, who does both the most beautiful and the most horrible things, about equality and difference between man and woman, old and young, past and present, our culture and other cultures, about paradoxes of chaos and order, pain and pleasure, life and death. The philosopher always asks questions, but does not accept a quick and easy answer. He makes man aware of the mystery of being human and of being himself. The philosopher keeps people awake.
