Students who love both engineering and physics can pursue an engineering physics major offered jointly by the Department of Engineering Sciences and the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Engineering physics majors are expected to have a basic understanding of calculus, physics, chemistry, and computer science. Engineering Physics majors complete a culminating experience, which is part of a course (either as one of the two electives or as an additional course). The introductory courses are offered at a number of levels: you can begin a major at Dartmouth even if you've never had any physics or astronomy before.
