The world is now a truly global community with goods moving great distances in response to consumer supply and demand. There is a high demand for the shipment of key commodities such as iron, steel, coal and cement to meet the needs of industrial growth and infrastructure development. Likewise, raw and unprocessed commodities are transported to countries where they are processed and manufactured into goods which are then shipped around the world.
