The Bachelor of Biomedical Science provides students with the scientific understanding of the structure and function of the human body and the interrelationships between health and disease. The discipline of biomedical science is based on the foundations of maths, physics, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, which are presented in the first year. Students then further explore the intricacies of human health and examine the pathological basis of disease processes by studying human pathophysiology, molecular genetics, immunology, microbiology and neuroscience. Students develop skills in problem-solving, analysis and interpretation of medical and laboratory data, as well as practical skills in laboratory methods.
