As part of studies, students will learn to critically question historical 'facts' and to apply methods of historical sciences, such as heuristics (the 'art' of finding and questioning the sources), source criticism and source interpretation, to analyze events and relationships from the past, classify and interpret. The aim of the historical sciences is the methodologically secured knowledge about human behavior in the past. To this end, historians use systematic and comprehensible procedures based on various, mostly written, forms of tradition.
