The bachelor degree program History and Culture of the Near East with a focus on Arabic Studies imparts a comprehensive overview of the history and culture of the regions of the Near East, influenced by Islam from antiquity to the present. By participating with other subject areas in the department, such as Iran Studies, Islamic Studies, and Turkic Studies, students become familiar with the interwoven relationships and the reciprocal influences that the respective societies have on each other's cultures, politics, law, religions, and intellectual histories.
