Spain is the world's leading destination for holiday tourism and the second in terms of number of arrivals and income, employing more than 12% of the employed population and equivalent to around 11% of Spanish GDP. In addition, it has an important multiplier effect and strong implications on other strategic sectors of the country such as, among others, construction, environment and health.
