This degree qualifies graduates for certification to teach Spanish at the pre-kindergarten, elementary-school, middle-school and high-school levels. To increase job opportunities, an additional teaching content specialization is recommended. See Content Specializations. Elective hours may be an appropriate course from another department (e.g. History, Geography), with prior approval of the Division, or independent study. Although HIST 101 and HIST 102 may not be used as electives, they are strongly recommended to those seeking Spanish certification.
