The Department of Arabic Language and Culture, formerly the Department of Oriental Studies, was founded in 1946 as the earliest Arabic major in Chinese universities. For more than half a century, the department has trained a large number of outstanding talents and accumulated rich experience in Arabic teaching and strong faculty. There are 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 2 assistant professors and 2 postdoctoral students, with undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels and teaching and research directions in Arabic languages, Arabic literature, Arab Islamic culture and Middle East studies.
