Description

Grammatically, Polish, Czech and Bosnian / Croatian / Serbian have a lot in common - both with each other and with other Slavic languages such as Russian. The alphabet and vocabulary are clearly marked by the countries' cultural orientation: Poles, Czechs and Croats are associated with the Western cultural circle and use the Latin alphabet, while the Serbs and Montenegrins have oriented more to the east and often use the Cyrillic alphabet. In Bosnia, the vocabulary is characterized by the time of the Ottoman Empire.
