BA South Asian Languages

The South Asian Department belongs to the Ministry of Education's second-level discipline of Indian language and literature, is one of the first published national key disciplines, is China's earliest set up master's and doctoral points, but also the field is currently the only subject with the right to grant a doctorate. In 2008, the discipline was named the Ministry of Education's characteristic professional construction point, and in 2009, the discipline was named Beijing's characteristic professional construction point. The Department of South Asian Studies was established in early 2009 and has a Sanskrit Bari Teaching and Research Office, an Indy Language Teaching and Research Office, an Urdu Teaching and Research Office and a South Asian Cultural Research Institute, and relevant research institutions are the Indian Research Center, the Pakistan Research Center, the Sanskrit Baye and Buddhist Literature Institute, the South Asian Studies Center, the Buddhist Code and Art Research Center.
