The AfroAmerican Studies major offers students the opportunity to study the origins, experiences, and conditions of people of african descent. The fundamental goal of the curriculum is to provide students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary introduction to the crucial life experiences ofafrican americans. The major is interdepartmental and interdisciplinary. It also includes a concentration in a specific discipline to enhance your employability. Majors take core courses in AfroAmerican Studies that address the challenges that AfricanAmericans face in the U.S and world. To graduate with a demonstrable skill set, majors also take six courses in their area of disciplinary concentration (such as English, History, or Political Science, etc.)
