BS Environmental Science

The environmental science major leads to a bachelor of science degree and is appropriate for students interested in solving complex environmental and energy resource related problems. The major includes preparation in the basic sciences related to environmental study and the application of those principles to the analysis of environmental processes and problems. It focuses on such topics as how material and energy are moved and transformed in complex environmental systems, the role of society in perturbing those processes, and scientific techniques which might be used to improve environmental quality.
