Education is a much more complex and dynamic process than once was understood. It includes cultural, linguistic, and cognitive processes. Education and schooling must be understood as connected to the cultures and contexts in which they exist. In the Department of Education, scholars and students focus on the social and individual processes that influence how, where, and why learning occurs.
