As a middle school education or secondary education major, you ll focus on appropriate teaching styles for middle school (grades 4-8) or secondary school (grades 8-12), and you ll work with students in a number of classroom and informal learning environments.Go to the head of the class and get recruited to teach after graduating as a middle school education or secondary education major.Ninety-nine percent of education majors pass the Texas Certification Exam to teach one of the best pass rates in the state.Get experience in local urban schools or student teach in Canada, Denmark, England, Holland, Mexico, Norway or Sweden.Experience hands-on learning working with students from around the globe at the International Newcomer Academy through Fort Worth ISD.Become competent to teach a variety of students, including students with special needs and second-language learners.
