Elementary education prepares you to teach future generations. You will develop expertise in the teaching of reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies and science for grades 1-6. Students learn to adjust instruction to support young learners with a wide variety of cultural and language backgrounds and learning styles. Your coursework also will include curriculum and instruction, classroom management, educational technology, assessment and psychology. In addition to the DeKalb program, there is also an Elgin Community College Cohort 2+2 for the B.S.Ed. Elementary Education with Bilingual/ESL Endorsement.
