BM in Flute

The Bachelor of Music degree, with emphases in various performance disciplines, is a professional degree, open by audition to highly qualified performance students. The program of study is focused more intensely on performance accomplishment, with fewer General Education requirements than the BA degree. Applicants seeking admission to a Bachelor of Music performance emphasis are required to pass an entrance audition on Entrance Audition day during the January before anticipated enrollment in UCSB, or by special arrangement. The core music theory, musicianship, analysis and music history courses are the same as for the Bachelor of Arts Music major.
