BA in Music Studies

The Music Studies Major of the Bachelor of Arts degree program offers a wide range of options within a liberal arts BA degree. Students take the same set of General Education requirements as all BA students in the College of Letters and Science: see the UCSB General Catalog College of Letters and Science pages online for full details. The core music theory, musicianship, analysis and music history courses are the same as for the Bachelor of Music programs, and there are further requirements for options in counterpoint, ethnomusicology, and other music academic electives.
