The establishment of the new inter-university master's degree course in Energy Engineering, proposed by the University of Trento and the Free University of Bolzano, arises from the progressive diffusion of technologies connected with distributed generation and optimal management of the energy, and the consequent growing demand of engineers able to develop and propose effective and innovative technological solutions to face the problems related to the progressive depletion of non-renewable fossil sources and to the impacts produced on the environment by energy uses. The course of study pays particular attention to the issues of energy efficiency in buildings and in production, as well as to production from renewable sources with medium-small sized plants, which have a reduced environmental impact and are at the service of users located near the themselves.
