The object of educational science is the investigation of norms, goals, conditions, processes and consequences of educational action as well as of educational processes in institutional and non-institutional contexts. As a philosophical and historical discipline, educational science works interpretatively, analytically, historically, systematically and normatively. As an empirical (educational) science, it is dedicated to the observation and analysis of pedagogical reality in various fields - sometimes in close contact with pedagogical psychology, sociology, general didactics and subject didactics.
