In recent years it has become clear that the liberalization of the electricity and gas markets in Germany and Europe has profoundly changed the structure of the energy sector. Representatives of the energy industry are increasingly confronted with new challenges which, more than ever, require in-depth training. In addition to the increased capital market demands on companies, the greater competitive pressure in the industry is forcing a stronger customer focus and consistent value-oriented corporate management.

The University of Duisburg-Essen meets these challenges with a unique, interdisciplinary range of courses. The close connection between technology, energy and capital markets requires a multitude of different skills, which we impart to you during the two-year master’s degree. The bilingual orientation of the course primarily takes into account the international nature of the energy and finance sector. We prepare you for activities in companies in the energy industry, banks and financial investors, consultants and in public administration.

The bilingual Master’s degree in Business Administration - Energy and Finance at the University of Duisburg-Essen is a consecutive degree in economics aimed at particularly qualified, performance-oriented bachelor's graduates who are economically or economically related (industrial engineering, business informatics, business mathematics).
