The admission requirement for a master’s degree with the option to become a teacher is a first professional qualification (teaching bachelor’s degree), which has been achieved after at least three years of relevant studies in two or three subjects or learning areas admitted to a combination and educational and didactic content, or a comparable degree if the examination board has determined the equivalence of this qualification.
In the master’s program, only those subjects can be continued that were already completed in the bachelor’s program.
Those interested in a master’s degree with the option to become a teacher who did not acquire their first professional qualification (Bachelor’s degree in teaching) at the University of Duisburg-Essen must have the equivalence of the teaching bachelor’s degree checked by the responsible examination boards of our university after enrolling. If you do not do this, you may encounter problems when registering for the legal clerkship if you do not have any qualifications.
