Description

The course comprehensively and systematically introduces the basic principles, methods and practical techniques of architectural design research. Through the study of the course, students will understand and master how to turn interesting issues into feasible research topics, and then design a set of research plans, implement a standardized research plan, and write a research report showing the results. Advanced Architecture and Environmental Design (1), (2) (6 credits in total) This course takes actual and specific architectural and urban design cases as the practice object. Through the exploration of design topics, theoretical discussion, case studies, design goals and principles, alternative proposals, evaluation criteria formulation, program evaluation and finalization Wait for a series of scientific steps to complete the design exercises. The process enables students to understand and become familiar with the procedures for implementing urban design. In addition to the presentation of the results of the assignment in illustrations, models and 3D animations, the writing of the report is emphasized. In order to train students' ability of communication, coordination and teamwork, students are divided into groups for Team Work teaching. Theoretical Research on Urban Development and Spatial Composition (3 credits) The purpose of this course is to provide a theoretical understanding and analysis of local economic and urban development, and to propose relevant development strategies from a planning perspective. In addition to absorbing domestic and foreign theoretical knowledge and empirical experience through literature reading, development policy and planning techniques will also be discussed. For the purpose of combining theory and practice, a theme practice unit is designed in the teaching process for students to experience in-depth operation. Principles of Waterfront Urban and Sustainable Building Design (3 credits) Through research on sustainable architecture topics, students will understand the principles of sustainable design and the necessary architectural design and construction methods. Through lectures and case studies, students become familiar with materials and technologies currently in use, understand material properties, and assemble practices in sustainable concepts. In addition, the course will also introduce and predict the sustainable use of materials in the future, redefining the possibility of future architectural design in the concept of sustainable development. Special Topics in Built Environment Control (3 credits) This course aims to understand the global environment and climate change trends, the impact of various physical environmental factors on buildings, teach students to understand the application principles of various modern equipment, and explore advanced scientific control methods, in order to create comfort, convenience, safety, Healthy buildings and construction of good environmental quality. Architectural Reuse and Cultural Creativity (3 credits) This course will focus on the theory of cultural and creative industries, systematically teach related theoretical research, supplemented by practical case explanation and comparative analysis. It is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding and mastery of relevant theories, concepts, cultural regulations, current development, etc., to develop the advanced professional knowledge required for development and to develop and activate the diversity of building means. Conservation and Reuse of Historic Buildings (3 credits) After continuing the compilation of architectural structure, architectural history, and architectural regulations, this course will discuss the current situation and advanced operation and application of historical building reuse. Deepen the research on the concept of reuse of historical buildings, cognition and research, and then improve the design practice ability. Academic Special Project (1 credit) Students must participate in at least ten academic activities recognized by the college, such as lectures, seminars, visits, etc. organized by the school. After each activity, students are required to submit a one-page (A4) activity report, which will be reviewed by the designated tutor. The subject aims to cultivate students' comprehensive quality, broaden their academic horizons, and cultivate their innovative thinking. Professional Internship (3 credits) Internship courses aim to improve the quality of teaching, cultivate students' practical ability and innovative spirit, enable students to enter the field of social practice in advance, enhance their deep understanding of professional knowledge, and cultivate and improve students' self-discovery, analysis and problem-solving practice Skill. Graduation Project (6 credits) Graduation project is a systematic, comprehensive and comprehensive training for students to propose design problems, analyze design problems and solve design problems by comprehensively applying the knowledge, theories and methods they have learned in school in the past two years, combined with complete design topics. Thesis (9 credits) Students must submit a master's thesis (not less than 10,000 words, excluding footnotes, chapter notes and references), and conduct a dissertation defense. Students must follow the university's format requirements for master's thesis.
