The doctoral program in chemistry is directed to providing a comprehensive knowledge of chemical phenomena, mostly through the development of research skills in chemistry.
Through the advanced formation program and by attending research seminars, the students are expected to broaden and strengthen their knowledge of chemistry.
Through developing research under the topic of the thesis, the students are expected to acquire a high level of competency in a specialized area of chemistry and the ability to perform innovative research, mastering the art while strictly observing its rules and regulations, including ethical issues.
By the time the degree is earned, the student should show the capacity to become and independent research scientist, with the ability to design, propose and lead innovative research projects, directed to fundamental research and/or to technological applications, in specialized areas of chemistry of in the interface with other areas ok knowledge.
By the end of the course the students must be prepared to seek career opportunities in academia, research and development institutes, industry and in marketing.
