Bioengineers deal with the performance of biological and chemical-based technical tasks in industrial biotechnology, the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and healthcare, solving special environmental protection problems in all areas of the economy, managing, controlling, and developing technical-biological systems, as well as scientific research related to their field of expertise. Both natural sciences and technical sciences are of great importance in the major. The subjects - especially in the specializations - largely contain knowledge of the fields of application.
