The Universidad de Montevideo (UM) is a pioneering university in Montevideo, Uruguay. Since its foundation in 1986, the UM has developed a national and international reputation for its commitment to academic excellence, research, technological innovation, and social responsibility. Its objectives include promoting a solid work ethic and cultivating a desire to serve society. It bases its intellectual endeavors on a transcendental perspective of a person committed to the search for truth.
The UM offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses within its five faculties: the School of Economics & Business Administration, the School of Communication, the School of Engineering, the School of Law, and the School of Humanities & Education, as well as additional degrees, diplomas, and programs in the IEEM Business School and the Center for Biomedical Science. The IEEM has AMBA and EFMD Accreditations.
The Universidad de Montevideo is a Recognized Teaching Center of the University of London International Programmes. At the UM, students can study two degrees in two languages: the UM degree in Spanish and the University of London degree in English. In 2020 The University of London elected the UM for the second consecutive year as one of the select universities in the world for the outstanding international examination results in the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
