A profession in contact with the future. Starting from the consideration of the school as a place of cultural and social training, the profession of teacher for the kindergarten sector requires, in addition to a solid didactic and pedagogical preparation, also an open and curious look towards the future, since it puts the teacher in constant contact with the new generations, with the challenges and needs that their development entails. The training is therefore strongly focused on the interaction between theory and practice, with several periods of professional practice to be carried out in the chosen school sector and conceived in close synergy with the theoretical, applicative and professional modules that characterize the training.
The SUPSI Bachelor of Arts in Teaching for the elementary level (school years 1-2) (kindergarten) is a tertiary-level training of a professionalizing nature that leads students to build the enabling skills to practice the profession in three years of training as a teacher. The Bachelor degree awarded by the Department of Education and Learning qualifies for teaching in the Canton's kindergartens as well as being recognized at federal level.
The training is based on a concept of life-long learning. The complexity and the evolutionary nature of the profession lead to orient the construction of skills of students primarily towards the acquisition of a professional attitude that guarantees effectiveness and durability in the profession.
